Colour Accurate Photography
We photographed The Crewel Work Company’s embroidery kits in our home studio, focusing on colour accuracy, fine detail, and textures to reflect the quality and craftsmanship behind each piece.

We worked with The Crewel Work Company to photograph their collection of embroidery kits - beautiful, intricate pieces inspired by traditional needlework techniques. The focus was on capturing each design with precision, making sure the textures, stitch detail, and rich colours were all represented as accurately as possible.

About the Project
The purpose of these images was to provide potential customers with a clear view of what the embroidery kits entail, how difficult they might be, as well as what they should look like once complete. This meant ensuring that images were sharp down to the individual stitches. Colour accuracy was also a priority, as the backing linens and threads can look vastly different depending on the lighting.
Photographed in our home studio, we used a mixture of clean white backdrops and soft-styled linens to balance clarity with warmth. Careful lighting and thoughtful angles helped highlight the 3D quality of the designs, capturing natural shadows and texture. Everything was shot to be as true-to-life as possible, keeping editing minimal and colour representation accurate straight from camera.
"Your photos from the Autumn have been fantastic. They have been crucial for our promotion of the retreat we are about to host".
