

Exploring Spatial Audio
We developed and produced a collection of videos for the launch of Sony's 360 Reality Audio on the Bandlab platform, showcasing how easy it is for musicians and producers to use spatial audio in their music.

Bandlab is a popular music creation platform and after the announcement of their partnership with Sony to integrate Sony’s 360 Reality Audio technology, Bandlab wanted to create a series of videos, showcasing what Spatial Audio is, how it works, and how Bandlab users can have a go for themselves.
Our goal was to create a series of engaging and informative long form videos, combining educational elements and practical hands on examples of the software in action. These videos formed part of a larger launch campaign with accompanying blogs and marketing materials.

About the Project
It was important that these videos feel approachable and relatable to the viewers, so we reached out to producer Shaun Reynolds to be the presenter of the videos as well as providing the hands on examples shown in the videos. Coming from a YouTube background, he did a great job presenting to the camera and keeping the energy up.
The five videos were shot over the course of two days at Shaun’s Studio, with every hour meticulously planned out to ensure we captured everything we needed. We ended up filming the videos out of order, focusing on all the relatively simple talking sections first, and then on to the more complicated practical example sections where we needed to run screen and audio captures alongside the regular camera angles.
Shaun’s studio fit the perfect vibe for the videos, but we wanted to add some branding elements for both Sony and Bandlab. To convey the two brands throughout the videos, we used some small LED lights (as well as Shaun’s Phillips Hue system) to add Bandlab’s red and Sony’s blue brand colours. Then, for some simple product placement, we had Shaun use a set of Sony Headphones and a Sony microphone, making sure to get some B-roll highlighting the logos.
